Introducing Massage Candles

Have you ever heard of a massage candle? For those of you that haven’t, it’s a candle made from butters and oils that melts into a warm body/massage oil when lit. You can use this with a partner or even on your own. We like to light one before getting in the shower and it’s all ready to be used as a body oil when we get out!

Why These Ingredients?

Shea Butter

Shea Butter is harvested from the Shea Tree in Africa. It’s a thick, creamy, soothing balm that’s gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. Not only is it skin softening, but it provides a barrier between your skin and the harsh elements, such as the dry weather. It allows your skin to heal naturally. There’s so many more reasons we decided to include Shea Butter in our recipe and it’s no wonder it’s found in so many products on the market, but here’s a few:

Soy Wax

Soy Wax works as a binder to make our massage candles, well… candles. Not only that, but this wax’s soft, creamy texture is full of Vitamin E, helps lock in moisture and is also reported to help with a variety of skin conditions.

Coconut Oil

Not only can coconut make your skin feel softer, it has the ability to keep your skin hydrated, soothe dryness and machines and strengthens the skin barrier. It’s been reported to promote healing, minimize scars, boasts pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce inflammation.

This oil is also high in fatty acids, including lyric acid, and has some antimicrobial benefits, which can help with acne and body odor.

Phthalate-Free Fragrance

Sweet Almond Oil

Rich in vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and omega-3 fatty acids, this light oil is highly soothing and hydrating. It’s even been reported to reduce the appearance of stretch marks and help with scarring.

Rice Bran Oil

Also high in Vitamin E and Omega 3 fatty acids, this oil is able to penetrate beneath the surface layers of skin without being greasy, so it won’t clog pores or further irritate sensitive skin. It even boasts powerful anti-aging properties, helps to reduce wrinkles by restoring elasticity, evens out dark spots caused by sun exposure and helps naturally diminish age spots.

Apricot Kernel Oil

This non-greasy, enriching emollient is is high in Vitamin C and E and said to soothe and prevent acne, inflammation and dryness. It also helps to improve skin tone, maintain softness and radiance of the skin.

Sunflower Seed Oil

Not only is this oil rich in Vitamin E, ir also contains Vitamins A, C, K, and D, which helps to protect your skin from environmental stressors that can cause premature aging. Like all of our oils, Sunflower Seed Oil is hydrating.

It also helps unclog pores, soothes, can help calm temporary redness, protect skin, even out skin tone and texture, and is gentle on sensitive skin.

Avocado Seed Oil

In addition to Vitamin E, this luxurious oil contains potassium, lecithin and many other nutrients. It can relieve inflammation, prevent and treat acne, accelerate wound healing, treat sunburned skin, reduce signs of aging, and improve nail health.

Hemp Seed Oil

Hemp Seed Oil is high in omega acids 3,6, and 9, which help repair your skin’s barrier and form a seal of the skin to keep moisture trapped inside. It also draws moisture to the skin, has anti-inflammatory properties, soothes skin, and is an anti-acneic (which helps with acne or overly oily skin).
